Due to the location of our recreation areas, peak usage occurs during the weekends and sites are always available during the week. Campsites may be reserved for Friday nights only by telephone or in person at the Lake McClure/McSwain Parks Headquarters for the current calendar year.

There is a $6 non-refundable campsite reservation fee for each advance reservation, plus the payment for the entire stay. Vehicle Day use charges are per vehicle (we don't have parking charges). Payment must be received no later than ten days from the initial call. Visa or Mastercard may be used for payment with a seven-day minimum. A confirmation will be sent upon receipt of payment.

Because campsite occupancy is limited to 14 consecutive days, reservations cannot be made for longer terms in each site. Campers who wish to secure their currently occupied site for a second week should reserve it for the following Friday.

In order to secure a group camp area at McSwain or Horseshoe Bend, group campers must reserve a minimum of ten sites. If not reserved by groups, these sites will become available for individual reservations 30 days prior to arrival date.

Check-in time is 4 p.m. and checkout time is 3 p.m. daily. No-shows forfeit fees that have been paid. Cancellations may be made by telephoning the reservation office, no less than 24 hours in advance of Friday night's reservation.

Rainchecks for acknowledged cancellations may be granted if requested. Refunds require a minimum of 24 hours notice, plus submission of the confirmation slip together with a written letter of request.
