Family and Pet Friendly Camping & RV Accommodations
There are 588 RV& Basic campsites available in the recreation areas at Lake McClure and Lake McSwain. All campsites have picnic tables and barbeque grills. Camp fires are allowed in designated areas. Restroom facilities with free hot showers are available within a short distance of all camp & RV sites. Most sites have shade ramadas, and food storage lockers. Large group sites are also available for social gatherings. RV sites come equipped with electric, water, and sewer hookups. RV sanitary dumping stations are also available.
Whether you enjoy camping, fishing, boating, swimming, hiking or just relaxing, there is something for everyone to enjoy by spending the day at the lake.
Reservation & Campground Information
Check-in time is after 4PM and Check-out time is before 2PM (If you arrive earlier than 4PM, early check-in is not a guarantee. Early Check-in will be allowed only if the reserved campsite is ready for occupancy.)
Wood burning campfires may be permitted at all our recreation areas when conditions allow, and when contained in approved fire-rings and other containers.
Love the Great Outdoors but don’t want to sleep in a tent? Get the best of both worlds — stay in a Park Cabin for the night, weekend or entire week – Located in the Barrett Cove Recreation Area.
Pets are welcome in the park but not allowed in any of the Park Cabins.
The major recreation areas at Lake McClure and McSwain include: McClure Point, Barrett Cove, Horseshoe Bend, Bagby, and Lake McSwain. The elevations range from 400 feet at Lake McSwain to 900 feet at Lake McClure. All areas offer swimming, lagoons or beach areas with a natural woodland setting.
Reservations are recommended. Reservations are accepted 24 hours ahead of arrival at the McSwain, McClure Point, and Barrett Cove Recreation Areas, and 72 hours ahead of arrival at Horseshoe Bend and Bagby Recreation Areas and can be made up to 1 year in advance. Please plan well in advance for holiday reservations.
